Publication: IOT Privacy-Utility Trade-Offs

The pervasiveness of the Internet of Things results in vast volumes of personal data being generated by smart devices such as smart phones, wearables and other embedded sensors. This data is often transferred to centralised computational systems for processing. This paper by Thomas Asikis and Evangelos Pournaras examines the inherent trade-off between the utility of such systems and end user privacy.
